Niall Mellon Township Trust

The Niall Mellon Township Trust was established in 2002 to provide homes to impoverished communities in the townships in South Africa. Most people would of heard of the building 'blitz', where people from Ireland travelled to South Africa to build houses in the townships. Carmel Shalvey will be volunteering for the 2008 building 'blitz', this will be taking place in November 2008. Each volunteer must raise at least 5,000euro, this money goes towards the cost of the trip and building materials, however, Shalvey Poultry will be sponsoring Carmel's travel costs and accommodation, therefore, the money will be entirely spent on building materials.
